Primary Program: Students may enter provided the child was three years old on or before September 1st.
Senior Primary: Students must be Kindergarten eligible, at five years of age, in accordance with the age requirements of their home school district.
ADMISSIONS
Admissions
Children are admitted taking the following considerations into account: sibling of current or former CHBC student, past Montessori experience, need of the individual class to maintain balance relating to gender and age distribution, observation of CHBC teachers and staff, recommendations and date of application. The Head of School is responsible for all admission decisions.
Applications
Applications will be provided after the child/family tours, upon request by contacting the Head of School. The completed application form must be submitted along with a non-refundable application fee of $75.00 to be considered for admission.
Enrollment
After admission is offered, students are enrolled upon payment of a non-refundable deposit, which will be applied to the tuition costs. This fee must be paid no later than fourteen days after the school has offered admission to the student. If the fee is not received by this time, the space will be made available for another student.
Re-Enrollment
By March, current students must re-enroll. It is important to observe the re-enrollment deadline if you wish to reserve a space for your child for the following school year. To re-enroll, you must pay a non-refundable deposit, which will be applied to the tuition costs.
Placement
Classes
A key element of the Montessori method is the child's development in the prepared environment over two, three, or four years. We make every effort to balance each class's age and gender. Children are expected to be with the same Directress and class throughout their primary and kindergarten years. Under normal circumstances, children will not be moved to other classes each year.

Siblings
To foster the development of identity and independence, it is generally the policy of CHBC that siblings in The Children's House will be placed in different classrooms.
